Good news for all you film majors out there that feel too paranoid or aren’t computer savvy enough to have pirated versions of FinalCut. Lightworks, a pretty sweet professional video editor is going open source. In case you aren’t hip enough to know what open source is, it means the program will be free. It was just announced today, so there are no downloads yet, but they announced plans to have it ready sometime this year.
